A 2016 survey report of ASI Central will leave a lot of helpful hints in handpicking the gifts that your buyers need. For business owners, the price factor makes one of the most important decisive factors while choosing promotional items. 44% of promotional gift buyers considered the price factor while choosing their logo gifts.
Promotional items make popular giveaways
Buyers who source promotional items use it as free giveaways rather than selling them. The survey report suggests that an overwhelming majority of 71% buyers prefer to use logo gifts as free handouts to promote their business while only 17% buyers sell these personalized items.

Product safety
A majority of buyers considered product safety as an important factor while purchasing promo gifts. 68% buyers told the survey that they consider product safety as a major factor while choosing promotional gifts.
Tips: Look for FDA and CPSIAĀ compliance and kid safety features wherever applicable while buying gifts
Environment friendly gifts
An overwhelming majority of 60% buyers prefer ecofriendly gifts for their promotions.
Tips: Some of the gift ideas to consider include wooden pens, pulp board coasters, notepads, metal water bottles and more.
Superior quality
46% buyers somewhat agreed that they are willing to pay extra for better quality gift items while 22% buyers strongly agreed that they will prefer a superior quality gift item even if it means that they have to shell out more money for buying it.
The right time to hand out promo gifts
While 24% of respondents chose to hand out promotional gifts 1 month in advance 20% thought it will be ideal to hand out gifts 2 months in advance of the event date for the best results. Another 20% of survey respondents thought that 3 months in advance will be the best time to hand out gifts.
US made Gifts
42% prospective buyers strongly prefer to buy US made gifts while 28% people somewhat agree to the idea of including made in USA gifts in their marketing mix.
Plan in advance
45% buyers chose to plan their promo gifts well in advance and was not keen on last minute rush orders.
Tips: Bulk orders carry the best discounts and deals. So, plan in advance to not just avoid last minute rush but to grab the best offers as well

60% buyers agree that promotional products ensure their brand a good ROI

68% of survey respondents believe that custom gifts make an important item in their marketing mix.

74% of survey respondents agreed that employee gifts make a thoughtful way to convey their appreciation to their team.
