4th of July weekend is upon us and most people are busy planning the best ways to celebrate America’s Independence. It is also a great time for summer fun and non-stop partying for most people.
However, how many of us have really given a thought at things that we should NOT DO during this holiday week. Letβs take a look at some of these things to make the holiday safe, hassle-free and enjoyable.
Here are a few tips to consider to make sure that the 4th of July celebrations leave behind only happy memories.
Firework safety
Nothing says Fourth of July Revelry like fireworks held in different parts of the country lighting up the evening skies. In New York City, Macy’s host the nation’s largest fireworks display, attracting a massive crowd.
- If you plan to light fireworks at home, make sure that it is legal in your area. You can also check with the police department.
- Make sure kids do not play with fireworks; avoid sparklers and firecrackers that are dangerous. Buy only legal fireworks and store these in a cool, dry place.
- Do not light fireworks indoors and make sure to have water at easy access to douse the fire in case of accidents.
- Never throw fireworks at someone, even as a joke.
- Keep pets indoors to prevent the risks of them running loose or getting injured.
BBQ accidents
Cookout parties and BBQ are the main attractions of July 4th holidays. Stay safe from burns and fire accidents by making sure that the BBQ sets are in top working condition. Do not leave burning match sticks on grass and leaves, which may set off a wildfire. Windproof lighters are a safe way to make bonfires.
Drunken driving
Reports show that the 4th of July weekend shows a steep spike in the number of road accidents that claim many precious lives. It had repeatedly ranked as the deadliest holiday of the year- more than even New Yearβs Day. Nearly 51 percent of all deadly traffic crashes on July 4 are related to alcohol. Make sure not to drive with a hazy head. Keep emergency safety kits in place and avoid over speeding. Stay safe both on and off the road.
Check out these Coleman 20 Can Party Stacker Wine Chillers that will let you carry the beverages fresh and well insulated to the party venue. Do not risk drunken driving for the fear that your drinks may lose the fizz!
Littering
The huge piles of trash left behind after 4th of July celebrations lead to the rampant destruction of the environment. Make sure not to leave beer cans and plastic water bottles on the beach that will pollute the oceans and kill marine life. If you are traveling with pets, make sure to carry these Pet Bags Dispensers, each of which carries 20 eco-friendly bags.
Marketers planning a sustainable promotion on 4th of July can consider custom products like reusable metal water bottles, cotton tote bags and more to inspire their clients and get across their message.
Happy 4th of July to everyone!
