Reopening phase is on and more businesses are opening their doors and resuming near normal operations. How to reopen safely has become the million dollar question lurking in everyone’s mind .Show that you care and are committed to the well being of your customers by updating the safety guidelines in place that will ensure the safety of your customers while they are in your stores.

Industry experts opine that the best way to create safe workplace practices is ensuring accountability. The employees should be fully responsible not just to follow safe practices but to ensure everyone around them are also following the guidelines
Announce your re opening plans
Let your customers know that your company will be back in business soon by updating your working hours on your site and social media pages apart from other business listing sites like Google My Business™ and Bing®. A banner imprinted with the new hours, website url and contact information can be placed in front of your stores. Send postcards containing the reopening plans to your existing clients
Safety signs
From social distancing stickers and floor decals to banners and safety awareness magnets – you can think of countless ways to get across the safety policies in your stores. It will make it easy for the customers to follow the guidelines without feel and above all will go a long way in making them feel confident and w reassured.
You can handout a set of new pens and disposable face masks for customers, which they may find useful. Customize it with your logo and message to make them feel brand loyal. Free masks can also be provided for the employees.
Quick services
Avoid crowding by offering speedy services. Retail stores and supermarkets can set up product display instructions and signage that will help the shoppers find what they need quickly and finish their shopping in the shortest time possible.
Sanitization
Set up a sanitization hub at the entrance of the stores and at a few more points in the stores including the checkout counter. The social distancing guidelines should be well displayed to make it easy for the customers to queue up. The employees at the cash out counter who may be coming in direct contact with the public should be provided gloves and safety shields.
Keep offering online services
Reopening the stores may not necessarily mean that you should discontinue the online services that are being offered at present. Curbside pickup, e-commerce options or video consultations will continue to be safe options for those customers who are unable to visit in person.
Remember, offering safe and secure shopping will be the biggest factor that consumers will be considering while choosing stores. Make sure that your organization is taking personal care and sanitization seriously and spread the word to maintain the footfalls.
