We all know that promotional products are important ingredients in the marketing mix of any business owner. People love freebies and their brand preferences change and loyalties sway according to the personal rapport that companies build with them. Facts and figures prove that promotional products indeed hold the clue in making any branding campaign a huge success.
But we were all curious to know how much the marketers know about the potential of promo gifts though they employ these on a regular basis. The sales team in ProImprint had a jolly good time last week as we played an impromptu quiz game with our clients. As always, Mandy and Bill were chairing the show with the rest of the team busy keeping the scores and checking the answers.
These are some of the questions that we had for all those business owners who were in attendance.
We deliberately picked up the easiest questions so that everyone could win prizes. Even our participants agreed that anyone who might have employed custom gifts atleast once will get these right.
The first question was
- The most popular promotional product in America?
A. Hats
B. T shirts
C. Mugs
D. Bags
Almost the whole audience shouted out the right answer as T shirts and we had a tough time to decide whom to give the prize! - How many consumers recall the name of the advertiser on a logo gift they get?
A. 89%
B. 38%
C. 78%
D. 58%
The right answer is 89% and there were only a few right answers this time, which made the score keeping easy for Mandy - How many consumers keep a promotional product for more than one year?
A. 38%
B. 28%
C. 48%
D. 60%
60% is the answer. Did you get it right? The more the retention the greater will be the impact of promotional gifts and as many as 60% customers retain logo gifts for more than one year. Practical and useful items like pens, ceramic mugs and T shirts are all good examples of logo gifts that are well retained - What’s the average cost per impression for promotional pens?
A. 1/10 of a cent
B. 4 cents
C. 1 cents
D. ½ of a cent
Answer is 1/10 cents. We are sure most of them might have got it right this time. Pens create the most impression as everyone uses pens to write, take notes, to draw or to doodle and every time they do so, the logo imprinted on these will grab the attention of everyone around. - True or false: More women than men own promotional T shirts.
A. True
B. False
The answer is True and we all know that women are more style savvy than men - Now a bit of history. What was the first ever known promotional product?
A. Bags for the shoe sellers in 1800s Ohio
B. Buttons for George Washington’s presidential election
C. Cork screws for 1920s breweries
D. 17th century hats
The right answer is Buttons for George Washington’s presidential election and surprisingly we got a lot of correct answers. Guess it may be because that we are in the election year and the marketers are focused on political campaigns big time as are only a few weeks away from the big day!
We have had a lot more questions. But the shortage of time played spoilsport and we were disappointed as much as the participants when the show ended. We promise to be back with yet another interesting brain teasing quiz session sometime soon.
