After a whole year of tight schedules, targets and back to back business meetings, it is time for your employees to take a well deserved break- to recharge their batteries and to be back with a bang once the holidays get over. Setting some time aside from work will make them more focused and enthusiastic. There are no fixed rules on the ideal time that has to be set aside for the break. Be it a short nap, a day out at the beach or a snack break can all go a long way in enhancing the productivity of your employees. Scientific studies have proven that work hour breaks are helpful for employees to remain focused on their tasks.
Get your mind off the work
Most employees find it hard to unplug their mind from work even during holidays. Even when they are not physically present in office their brain continues to be involved in the work. Employees can be encouraged to unplug fully and relax by indulging in creative tasks. Corporate golf weekends, picnics, team building activities and fun contests are all excellent ways to keep your team relaxed and away from work.
Coloring books are excellent ways to keep your employees relaxed as it enhances focus and hand and eye coordination. Doodling is another fun way to enhance focus of your team. Hand out custom pens or pencil sets to encourage them to take this creative break.
Pictures of family, pets or holidays
Studies show that people stay relaxed when they see personal snaps of their family or pets. Businesses can handout custom picture frames to encourage their team to bring in the personal moments to their work space. Every time they see these they will feel relaxed and more focused and needless to say that their loyalty towards your business will go up manifold.
Recreational activities
Exercising on a work day can increase the mood of the employees and will help them to remain sharp and creative. Getting a little bit of exercise can do wonders in making your team happy. Plan recreational activities, set up a bridge or snooker table at office or let your employees to go for a short stroll in the premises to relieve the tension and to be back at their work desk with more vigor. Even a short nap will enhance the cognitive performance of the team.
So, if you think your team is finding it difficult to take a break from the long work hours, encourage them to take a welcome break with these tips. Taking a break, just means that your employees will be back to work soon – more refreshed and focused. Encourage them to do so and see how your team will be supportive to you.
