You are in the middle of the holiday season of 2016, where you have to juggle in a lot of parties, shopping, travelling and not to forget all those holiday inspired menu and dinner events. It is indeed a time to rejoice, relax and to take a break from the job commitments. However for businesses, holiday season offers the challenge of staying focused and being productive without compromising on the holiday fun.
Holiday season is a hectic time for businesses as they run around to buy gifts, host parties and end of the year fund raising events among others. It could be a handful of tasks at times, which may sniff out the enthusiasm of people.
So, here are some tips that will help businesses to handle the extra responsibilities that come tagged with the holiday season without losing their focus and energy.
- Keep a schedule in place: List out the tasks that has to be completed in the month of December before the holiday season juggernaut takes you by surprise! Once the plan is finalized share it with your team and managers to ensure a smooth execution.
- Say NO to multitasking: Multitasking is a fad these days when even the technical gadgets we use, do more than one function. However during the chaotic time of holiday season promotions, it is better to delegate tasks and make your team members stay focused on just a task at a time. For instance a person who is in charge of buying promotional items can concentrate in that while those who are entrusted with the task of mailing gifts should ensure a hassle free method to accomplish that task.
- Don’t carry your work home: Holiday season is not all about promotional gifts and year end strategy planning; it is also about family fun, traditions and culture. Divide your time appropriately to make sure that everything gets the desired priority.
- Soak up the festive fun: Spread the holiday cheer and celebrate the spirit and see how it ensures a high productivity at work.
- Reminders can do the magic: Bring out all those silly looking sticky notes, make reminders, daily tasks and more and paste it where you see them. Self appreciate everytime a task is completed successfully.
- Relax to stay sane: An overdose of festive spirit and fun can all make you feel disheveled. Make sure to take some time off from work and relax. Be it music, yoga, friends or hobbies, find things that keep you happy, recharge the batteries to be back with a bang on to the work desks.
- Be optimistic: The New Year brings a sense of hope and renewal. Plan ahead for the year ahead, learn from the little mistakes of the past and stay motivated to stretch your yardstick further.
These fabulous tips will help businesses to be productive at work during the holiday season and to strike a balance between work and personal life. Did you find these tips useful? Do let us know by posting your comments and reviews.
