How to wear and Care KN95 Masks ( infographics)

Wearing KN95 masks is a smart way to stay safe in the wake of the infectious disease going around. Designed to filter out particles, the KN95 is a relatively easy way to breathe clean air and stay healthy. However it is not recommended for children younger than age 18 and people with cardiac and respiratory problems.

The mask should be tight fitting for it to be effective in filtering elements. Wash your hands well before putting on your mask to prevent the chances of contamination. Place the mask in the palm of your hand and place it over your nose and mouth with the nosepiece fitting over the bridge of your nose. Pull the bottom and top straps over your head.

Mold the nose piece around the bridge of your nose by running your fingers down on both sides of the strip. If you have any abrasions on the face, applying liquid sealants on your nose and skin that comes in contact with the mask will ensure a soothing effect.

Check whether there is any air leakage in the nose area by exhaling and remold the nose piece if you feel air is leaking. You can wear your mask as long as it stays dry and fits tightly. Test the seal of your mask each time you put it on to make sure it ensures a firm fitting.

If possible, take out the face masks for a few minutes every few hours as the tight seal may make breathing difficult if you have to wear it for a long time. Remove your mask by pulling the straps over the top of your head and store it in a clean, sealed container before you can dispose it safely. If the masks are not used in high risk areas like hospitals , it can be reused after sterilizing using UV light or heating it in humid conditions.

Whether at home, office or on the move, these masks will make it easy to stay safe in the post pandemic world.
