Black Friday sales will be up by 47% than that of 2016
According to the survey reports of RetailMeNot’s, consumers are expected to spend an average of $743 this year during the Black Friday weekend, which is a staggering 47% more than the sales figures of 2016. Retailers can stock up to cater to a bigger crowd at their stores this year. Consumers plan to spend an average of $743 this year during the Black Friday weekend to bag the best deals of the year.
Cyber Monday is growing in popularity
Interestingly the trends show that Cyber Monday is growing in popularity to be a happening holiday shopping event. More than 56% of consumers are planning to make a purchase on Cyber Monday this year as against 39% last year!
Black Friday And Cyber Monday Deals Will Be Offered For An Extended Period
Retailers are likely to extend their Black Friday and Cyber Monday Deals over Two-Weeks or more. Over 79% of retailers will begin promoting deals earlier this year in comparison to the previous year. This will ensure more foot falls at their stores as shoppers will have more time to get their favorite items at never before prices without having to put up with the infamous Black Friday mayhem!
Nearly 85% Of Retailers Will Be Investing More on Holiday Promotions
Survey reports show that nearly 85% of retailers will be investing more in their promotional efforts during Black Friday weekend than they did in 2016. Apart from decking up the stores in colorful graffiti and confetti to drive up the fun of shopping, retailers may think of investing more on free custom gifts for their shoppers and discount coupons with an extended validity to get them back more often even after the Black Friday mania gets over. Some of the popular promotional items that can be considered include tote bags, T shirts, Travel tumblers and infact any popular gift item that will ensure ample visibility and portability for your brand during the holiday season.
Holiday Shopping Season Is Set To Start Early This Year
Nearly 45% of shoppers who participated in the survey said that they plan to begin holiday shopping before November 1 this year as against the 2016 trend where the holiday deals began just five days before Thanksgiving. By offering early promotions, retailers are planning to make the most of the anticipated increase in the consumer spending this year.
